Monthly Issue 84: Paper Art Display, Wind-inspired Window Aesthetics

Gimsun Update | POPUP Store Successfully Delivered

Another POPUP store has been delivered on schedule — and the entire set of materials was produced in-house from start to finish.

This window display puts paper artistry front and center, paired with large solid-wood structural frames and custom-printed pieces. Built around eco-friendly paper materials, it proves you don't need elaborate props to create striking visuals.

Every step — from sanding and reinforcing the wood frames to precision-cutting the paper elements — was executed with a tight grip on scale and texture. Once installed, the layered composition and sculptural design spoke for themselves. The client was more than satisfied.

Fun Facts: Corrugated Board | The Raw Material Behind Paper Display Props

Paper display props are a go-to choice for window presentations — they're eco-friendly and bring a unique visual edge.

Let's talk about one of the key raw materials: corrugated board. Its fluting comes in three profiles — U-shape, V-shape, and UV-shape — and we can machine all three:

- ✅ U-flute: Wide arches, excellent elasticity, strong compression resistance. Ideal for supportive, protective display trays.

- ✅ V-flute: Sharp peaks and valleys, high rigidity and stiffness, material-efficient. Perfect for thin, three-dimensional paper forms.

- ✅ UV-flute: Combines the best of both — solid support plus cushioning flexibility. The most versatile option, suitable for just about any window paper-art application.

Concept Window Design | A "Messenger of the Wind" Display

Here's a conceptual window with the theme "Messenger of the Wind" — inspired by the invisible paths the wind traces through the world.

Birds, botanicals, and leather goods coexist in a single space. Through floating installations and airy lines, the tableau captures a world swaying in motion, as if everything is dancing with the breeze.

The palette rests on misty light blue, ivory white, and warm beige, punctuated by wine red, lemon yellow, and orange — saturated accents that strike a vivid contrast between calm and energy. The result feels part art installation, part luxury brand showcase.

Inside the display, several vividly colored tropical bird props weave through the products in varied flight poses. Some carry branded leather tags, small accessories, and keychains in their beaks — bridging the gap between product and installation. It's as if they're delivering the brand's story and precious gifts to every passerby who stops to look.

The entire window turns "wind" into an invisible narrative thread, weaving birds, plants, scarves, and leather goods into a rhythmic art scene — one that makes viewers feel they've stepped into a quiet, graceful journey carried by the breeze.
